Garden Centre Continues Humanitarian Efforts by Donating Fifth Ambulance to Ukraine

Garden Centre Continues Humanitarian Efforts by Donating Fifth Ambulance to Ukraine: In a remarkable display of compassion, the Pot Place, a renowned garden center in Cumbria, has recently dispatched its fifth ambulance to Ukraine in response to the ongoing crisis following Russia’s invasion. Since 2022, the Pot Place has been actively contributing medical vehicles and supplies to aid the Ukrainian people.

Paul Thomas, co-owner of the garden center, emphasized the harsh conditions faced by ambulances in Ukraine, noting that they typically last only around six months due to the challenging state of the roads. Undeterred by these challenges, the Pot Place has persisted in its mission to provide crucial assistance.

The most recent ambulance, acquired by the company, was personally driven to the Ukraine-Poland border by Mr. Thomas and his dedicated team. Upon arrival, they coordinate with the Lviv Ambulance Service to ensure the seamless delivery of the life-saving vehicle.

Since the conflict began, the Pot Place has not only supplied five ambulances but has also contributed four paramedic motorcycles, a 4X4 evacuation car, and essential medical supplies. Mr. Thomas revealed that preparations are already underway for their sixth ambulance, with plans to return to Ukraine early in the new year.

These impactful efforts are made possible through generous donations, with the garden center channeling its profits to cover the transportation costs of the vehicles and supplies to Ukraine. Kateryna Karabadzhak, a Ukrainian staff member currently visiting family in the country, expressed the profound impact of Pot Place’s support, stating, “Every day when you go to sleep, you’re just expecting something. We still need this. It really makes us feel like we are not forgotten.”

The Pot Place’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian aid serves as a beacon of hope for the Ukrainian people, showcasing the power of collective support in times of adversity.
