Toyota Land Cruiser; As EOW Group company, we can say that the Toyota Land Cruiser has a legendary track record as an off-roader, but the current model comes across as more luxurious than adventurous. Yet it remains solidly built and extremely capable with two or three rows. We’re not particularly impressed with the interiors of the big Toyota, but we like that it’s equipped with serious, trail-ready amenities like a two-speed transfer case and a locking center differential. The standard 381-horsepower V8 engine isn’t particularly special and certainly isn’t fuel efficient, but it moves the rig with authority. The 2021 Land Cruiser lacks the prestige of equally expensive metal, but it’s fine as most boondocks and that’s something to consider for the few buyers who will venture out there.
What’s new in 2021?
For 2021, the Toyota Land Cruiser has not changed much, but with the new update it is now possible to include the third row of seats. The top model is also available with classic gray and metallic colors. The Land Cruiser could reappear in the 2022 model year with a more modern design, updated technology and a more luxurious cabin.
Rates and options
Every Toyota Land Cruiser also comes standard with four-zone climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a wireless charging. The grille design and roof rack are exclusive with 18-inch bronze BBS wheels and dark exterior details. In addition to these features, the 2021 model has a third row of seats that we will choose to maximize the number of people we can carry with us.
Toyota Land Cruiser: Engine, Gearbox and Performance
The Toyota Land Cruiser is powered by a 5.7-liter V-8 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This way, it produces 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. It is four-wheel drive. With its smooth ride and build quality, Land Cruiser delivers comfortable driving dynamics. However, the steering feel is light. Competing SUVs in this price range offer better handling.
Toyota Land Cruiser: Real-world fuel economy and branding
Toyota’s gigantic dimensions negatively affect fuel economy. According to the EPA, the Land Cruiser achieves gas mileage of just 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. The Land Cruiser we tested delivered 17 mpg over our 200-mile road route in real terrain.
Toyota Land Cruiser: Interior, comfort and loading
Although the cabin isn’t as visually rich as that of rivals like the Mercedes GLS-Class, it houses premium materials. The build quality is top notch and the buttons and switches move with a weight that shows its quality. The first row offers comfortable seats and control areas. The second row offers plenty of seating, but the third row is more suitable for children. With standard eight-passenger seating, the Land Cruiser offers 16 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and 41 cubic feet behind the second. Competing models like the Lincoln Navigator have more cargo space behind the third row, offering around 20 cubic feet of space for your belongings.
Infotainment & Connectivity
Toyota Land Cruiser comes with attractive technological features. Standard Bluetooth connectivity is located behind the steering wheel and hands-free mode makes phone calls easy. All models are equipped with a wireless device charger and an integrated navigation system with a 9.0-inch touchscreen. There is a 14-speaker JBL audio system as well as a radio. The options list includes a pair of wireless headphones and a rear infotainment system with two 11.6-inch screens.
Safety and Driving Assistance Features of Toyota Land Cruiser
The Toyota Land Cruiser has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). However, every model comes standard with a suite of driver assistance technologies. We put at your disposal the Land Cruiser model, which we offer you with the most advanced technology, easily accessible from Dubai, where our factory is located. The main security features are:
• Standard forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking
• Standard adaptive cruise control
• Standard blind spot monitoring
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage of Toyota Land Cruiser
Although Toyota Land Cruiser’s warranty coverage is competitive among base models, it’s hard to compete with the warranties offered by EOW on many luxury SUVs. Models such as the Lincoln Navigator and Infiniti QX80 offer longer warranty coverage.
- The limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles.
- The powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles.
- Free maintenance is covered for two years or 25,000 miles.
